Agricert has concluded the certification process of Companhia das Lezírias under the National Wine Sector Sustainability Certification Standard (RNCSSV), with the organisation achieving Level A classification, the highest level foreseen within this system promoted by ViniPortugal.
The RNCSSV establishes requirements across environmental, social, economic and governance domains, assessing the integration of sustainability practices throughout wine production activities and the respective value chain.
During the audit and verification process conducted by Agricert, several sustainability-related criteria were assessed, including traceability, operational management, monitoring, resource use and continuous improvement mechanisms established by the standard.
The classification achieved by Companhia das Lezírias reflects the adoption of a structured approach to wine sector sustainability, integrating practices related to responsible production and the enhancement of natural resources.
Achieving the highest classification under the RNCSSV further reinforces the growing importance of certification and independent verification systems in a context increasingly shaped by market and supply chain demands regarding sustainability, transparency and verifiable evidence.
